Four of the major Defense contractors have a presence in our region. In 2005 and 2006, Northeast Indiana defense contractors were awarded over $1 billion in prime contracts each year. The products and services contracts were awarded to over 120 contractors located within the region. The vast majority of which is radio and wireless communications that help our troops both on the ground and in the air.
The Defense contract community has been able to find local talent and attract needed skill sets to the area. 100s of software engineers writing code for battle field software. 1000s of engineers and designers involved with the latest communications and control devises.
