DEKALB Sechler's Pickles, a pickle producing company that has been in DeKalb for nearly 90 years, has seen an increase in recent sales despite the economic recession. Sechlers saw a 5% increase in 2008 and is expecting another 6 to 7% in 2009. more

Guardian Industries in Auburn was awarded $5.2 million in advanced energy project tax. Guardian intends to double its capacity for solar mirrors and plans to install new equipment to move more stages of manufacturing to the Auburn plant. more
HUNTINGTON HCUED celebrates ribbon cutting at Fogwell Manufacturing Company. Fogwell Manufacturing has completed construction on their new facility in Huntington's Riverforks Industrial Park and officially cut the ribbon on their building on January 29th. The company is now working three shifts, seven days a week with their workforce of 30.
Transwheel Corporation, a division of LKQ Corporation has finished construction of their new 155,000 foot distribution center in Huntington's Riverforks Industrial Park. Transwheel is the largest domestic supplier for aftermarket wheels to body shops, tire stores, and other wheel distributors.
Jeff Souder of Warren, Indiana has been elected to serve as the Board President for HCUED. Jeff owns East of Chicago Pizza Franchises in Warren and Ossian, Indiana. He is a lifelong resident of the Warren area.
LAGRANGE Pennington Seed Inc.,one of the largest manufacturers, producers, and packagers of lawn care products in the world, and the LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation announced the leasing of additional space for Pennington Seed Inc. at the former Starcraft Marine facility in Topeka, IN.
NOBLE B & J Specialty co-owner, and longtime Noble County businessman, John Wicker received his first ever tax abatement. Wicker plans to purchase the former Walton Tool building in Albion, and open a new division doing tool and die work on medical and surgical equipment. The expansion will add 21 new jobs, with a goal of 300 total in the future.

WABASH All four of Wabash Public Schools were named Best Buys for the year 2009 by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. Two of the county's public schools were also listed as honor roll schools, placing in the top 26 of the Best Buys.
WHITLEY Ultra Electronics plans to invest $4.4 million to expand its Undersea Sensors Systems operation in Columbia City. The company announced the addition of a new production line, creating 45 jobs by 2012. The new line will produce high pressure air compressors for military aircraft. more Whitley's new Equine Hospital, Conely, Finch, & Koontz, is now open for business. This hospital is the only private equine facility with a board certified surgeon in the state of Indiana. The hospital is located at 2249 South 500 East in Coesse.
