In a 2006 report, the Biotechnology Industry Organization and the Battelle Memorial Institute placed Indiana as one of the top four life science leaders. Shortly before this report, Indiana companies in the medical devices industry and other life sciences were reported to have generated, in just one year, investments totaling over $214 million dollars and 2,200 new jobs.
