Taxes The advantages of Indiana's tax structure have resulted in the following recent accolades:
Unemployment InsuranceEmployers pay into the fund based upon statutorily determined rate schedules. The minimum tax rate is 0.5% and the maximum rate is 7.4%. New employers begin with a tax rate of 2.5% and after three years an experienced rate will be determined based on the losses occured. The taxable wage base is $9,500. For more information see the
Indiana Unemployment Insurance Employer Handbook.
Worker's CompensationEmployers must have insurance, whether through a private company or self insurance. Injury compensation awards are statutorily established by the General Assembly. Indiana does have a Worker's Compensation Board that has the authority to review all claims for worker's compensation. For further information visit the Worker's Compensation Board at
IN.gov.
