LaGrange County Reports Jump in Tourism Revenue |
| Tourism officials in LaGrange County report that a 48 percent increase in bus tours in 2007 translated into a $1.3 million jump in retail and food sales for area businesses. The LaGrange County Convention and Visitors Bureau says the increase in bus traffic is also estimated to have led to an additional $591,000 in revenue spent on lodging in 2007, compared to the previous year. |

New Aviation Fuel Developed in Indiana |
| A Purdue Research Park company has developed a new, lead-free general aviation fuel that is 100 percent renewable. Swift Enterprises Ltd. says its fuel is less expensive, more fuel-efficient and more environmentally-friendly. Swift says the components of the fuel can also be formulated into a replacement for jet/turbine fuels. |

State Commits Nearly $1 Million to E85 Pumps |
| The Indiana State Department of Agriculture (ISDA) is now accepting applications for the E85 Fueling Station Grant Program. Nearly $1 million in state money is available to assist in the installation of E85 pumps, and funds available have increased from a maximum of $5,000 to $20,000 per pump location. Cities and towns are now eligible to apply, as well as commercial refueling facilities, counties or townships. |

Ivy Tech Building New Fort Wayne Campus |
| Ivy Tech Community College hosted a ground breaking and campus dedication for the college's new North Campus in Fort Wayne. The North Campus will be located just north of the college's existing campus in Fort Wayne and Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW), and will be located on the grounds of the former Fort Wayne State Developmental Hospital.

Start-up Silicone Supplier to Begin Operations in Fort Wayne |
| US Silicones, a start-up supplier of compounded silicone rubber materials for the medical, industrial, automotive and home appliance markets, announced today it will locate its manufacturing operations here, creating more than 20 new jobs by 2011. The company, formed by Fort Wayne-based executive management firm Thistle Group, will invest more than $1.1 million to upgrade an existing 15,000 square-foot facility on the city's northwest side. |

Construction Underway on Fort to Port Project |
| Governor Mitch Daniels, together with local and state officials, broke ground on the first of four phases to build the Fort to Port project. The $170 million Major Moves construction project will improve access between Fort Wayne to the Port of Toledo, and, with the Hoosier Heartland Corridor, complete the long-awaited stretch from Lafayette to Ohio.
