Northeast, IN (September 7, 2010) -Five local economic development organizations in Northeast Indiana announced today they will be joining with the Northeast Indiana Fund to present an Economic Development Forum examining "Community and Industry Relationships." The event will take place from 4PM-7PM on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the Habecker Dining Commons on the campus of Huntington University in Huntington, IN.
"The Northeast Indiana Fund is committed to using our resources to back projects which strengthen Northeast Indiana's economic vitality," said NIF Executive Director Mark Becker, "With a similar event scheduled in Shipshewana, we will bring together community and industry leaders from throughout Northeast Indiana to examine the role economic developers play in the health and growth of our existing companies."
The Economic Development Forum will feature speakers David Dodd from DADCO Consulting and Michael Hicks from Ball State University's Center for Business and Economic Research and will be emceed by Dick Heupel of Ball State University's Office of Building Better Communities.
The event is free to attend, but space is limited to 75 attendees. Dinner is being sponsored by utility partners Duke Energy, Indiana Michigan Power, Northeastern REMC, and United REMC. In addition to the Northeast Indiana Fund, hosting organizations consist of the local economic development organizations from Adams, Allen, Huntington, Wells, and Whitley counties.
